We live in a nation where too many of our children, adults, elderly, and even full-time workers live in poverty. For these millions of individuals, this can mean not having a safe place to sleep at night, skipping meals because there’s not enough food, foregoing doctor’s visits because there’s no way to pay the bill, or enduring violence or discrimination because there’s nowhere else to turn.
At Heartland Alliance – the leading anti-poverty organization in the Midwest – they believe in a nation and world where everyone has the opportunity to live a safe and healthy life. They’ve been providing people with opportunities to live free from poverty for over 125 years. They equip those we serve with four simple tools – housing, healthcare, jobs, and justice – all things that are needed to keep families out of poverty and ensure that they are safe and successful.
